The origin of herning shipping goes back to 1963, where Vitta and Peder Lysgaard purchased their first vessel in order to supply a reliable supply for the family-owned oil company Uno-X. To honor the family business, the vessel was named after the wife and thus called m/t Vitta Theresa.
Since 1963, the fleet has grown considerably and today consists of several sophisticated oil and chemical tankers. Our core trade lane is Europe and West Africa, where we have gathered great experience through many years of trading.
We have a highly motivated and skilled personnel operating in accordance with clear company procedures as to how business is to be carried out.
August 2011 marks another milestone in herning shipping, when a change of ownership took place. Today, herning shipping is part of the Nordic Tankers Group and the fleet is marketed together with Nordic Tankers through their brand and website nordictankers.com
